Yellow-headed Blackbird(Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus)
This little juvenille was hilarious to watch, as he thought he was the boss of the marsh. He hopped and buzzed around chasing every bird in sight, trilling incessantly.

Mallard(Anas platyrhynchos)
American Crow(Corvus brachyrhynchos)
Northern Shoveler(Anas clypeata), shot from across the Sturgeon River. Hard to get detail, hopefully a chance to get close will come soon!
American Robin(Turdus migratorius) on high!
A very active White-crowned Sparrow(Zonotrichia albicollis) feeding like a beast on the ground.
House Sparrow(Passer domesticus) and partner.
Yup, everyone knows this one. American Robin(Turdus migratorius). A poor photo. I’m sure there will be chances to get some better pics!
Dark-eyed Junco(Junco hyemalis). Stopped by our backyard for a quick ground feed after I blew out all the bark chips to clean the tree beds out. Lots of tasty bugs I bet.
Our mighty Blue Jays(Cyanocitta cristata)! Are very active feeding their young. When they arrive at the cedar (view backshot, to right of bird), they scan the entire area before jumping into the base of the tree once it is safe. As a secondary precaution they climb up the branches from the base to their nest, rather than going straight to it. They are a bit aggressive with the other birds that come by. Fortunately, they aren’t behaving as meanly as they are reputed to.
